Hello,

I am PR in Canada and my wife have to fly back home in emergency, now she is holding valid open work permit ( PR application in process). We have applied for TRV on March 1 but no response yet. Question ; is she eligible for ETA to come to canada? Is there any other way can help to fly her back to Canada as not sure how long it will take for TRV application.
Any feedback will be appreciated

If she already has a TRV then what country is she from for a ETA. ETAs are for citizens of specific countries like UK or European countries.

We have applied for TRV but there is no update. That’s why we are trying to find other fastest options
She does not qualify for an eTA. A TRV is really her only option for being able to return.

She may not get approved for the TRV. Is she currently working in Canada?

Hope someone can enlighten me. I have a pending Conjugal application (outland paper). Recently, I got TRV approval (just waiting for my passport to come back from VFS).

I am planning to enter Canada using the TRV and will wait for the decision from our Conjugal application. While waiting am I really eligible to apply for Open Work Permit?

I would like to share the result of questionnaires I answered from GCKey:
