Open Work Permit form IMM5710 - Q5/8

Hi,

On the guide it says if we apply for OWP we don’t answer question 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 of the section Details of intended work in Canada. But what do I put at question 5? And I cannot validate the form without answering question 8....

If you chose “Open work permit” or post-graduation work permit no information is required for question: 2,3,4,6,7,8.

Question 5

Provide the dates of your expected employment in the format provided (From – To).

Note: A work permit cannot be issued for a duration longer then the passport

Question 8
Select “Yes” if you have been issued a certificate under the Provincial Nominee program. Otherwise, select “No”.

So, what did you put for question 5? For question 8, the answer was no. Then, for question 2,3,4,6,7 do I put N/A even though it says I don’t need to answer? They say that but at the same time they say not to leave anything blank...

I take it you are applying with your family sponsorship application? We had some issues with validating these forms too. It was very annoying.

Question five- Did you try using a date a bit prior to the expiration of your passport?

Question eight- Will it allow you to leave it blank and validate it? I would put N/A, but perhaps double check with a consultant, who might be willing to give you 30 minutes of their time and advice for questions like this.

I didn't know what to put so I put from the day his 6 month finish and 1 year. His TRV expires in 2027 and passport in 2028.

For question 8, you can't validate without answering. But then for the other questions, I don't know if we have to write N/A by hand or leave blank as they say we don't have to answer.

I remember seeing somewhere there is no need to answer question 2-7. So the link you gave me says:

If you are applying from inside Canada:
In the “Details of intended work in Canada” section of the IMM 5710 application form:

So I read the website but information are confusing. One part it says leave blank, the other it says put N/A when you don't answer. So I wanted to have insight from those who already applied.
