Hi,

I wanted to ask you a question. I am on my pgwp here in NOC A category. My wife has already got a visitor visa can i apply for her open work permit from within Canada? Will my wife be required to give proof of her education or skill set?

If she can what will be the procedure be? I am currently living in Montreal... your help will be highly appreciated

Hi

Yes, your wife can apply for an OWP from within Canada. She is not required to give proof of her education or skill set.

She will need to apply to change the conditions of her stay to worker and include proof of your status and your NOC A job. There are 2 ways to apply, online or paper http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp.

Did your wife also came as a visitor here and then you applied for her OWP?

Hello Dukhi,

I am on a PGWP aswell and was wondering if I should apply for my spouse visitor visa or directly the OWP (based on my condition here. Job in cat A and valid PGWP)

My wife is in Dubai, what are the refusal rates for spouse visitor visa?

Or the other option is apply directly for the OWP from Abu Dhabi which will take 7 months

Please help I am a desperate situation

Thank
DM

You are not in such a desperate situation if one of your options is to wait 7 months (does it really take that long?).....

Anyway... what are your intentions? For her to visit you or for her to come and live with you. Depending on that is the decision you should make.
