Open work permit for spouse

Hi everybody,

I have been accepted as a full time student 10 month diploma program, and want to apply for a owp for my wife.
we will be applying outside Canada together, so we need a regular application for a work permit? not a status change i guess.

except the basic docs, what kind of more docs do i need to apply along with the application? iv'e been reading about an explanation letter, does she need to write one? and what does she need to write in it.

Regarding the employer section in the application, i guess i need to fill N\A ?

Yes she needs to write a letter of explanation explaining why does she feel she should be allowed to accompany you to Canada. In the type of visa section choose open work permit. This will allow you to leave the employer section blank.

Thank you for the reply, any idea where i can find "samples" of this kind of letter ?

same thing will be helpful with my letter for the student permit.
