There are so many ppl out there, telling, that the spouse of the pricipal applicant will be eligible for an open workpermit after they are nominated and before the PR will be issued.
I am not sure, but I know a couple which really counts on that.
They are not nominated yet but she wants to start working as soon as they will be. He is applying as truck driver (low skill)
I'd like to know if it is guaranted that she'll be allowed to work and if there are some links to research.

NB PNP.
I couldn't find anything...
I heard that u can get a WP for both under business PNP NB
I never heard that u get open WP for spouse if the applicant is skill level c or d.
Why should it be that way?

Hello Every one
I saw good discussions here but unfortunately most of them don't show what happened for application at last, I have applied for my wife Open Work Permit since I am Alberta Provincial nominee and also I have post-graduate work permit, also We have PR application in process under PNP.
My lawyer told me you don't have show ties back to home for you wife becuase you already showed you interest in staying in Canada and I am still waiting for OPW result.
I would appreciate if anyone with similar experience tell his story and what they did and what was the results?

Hi all,
I'd like to share my case:
I am PNP application of SINP, got Work permit visa after nominated, and now my spouse is applying open work permit outside. Still waiting since OWP was submitted online in June 19.

May I know what kind of document have attached? Did attach any document to show she has ties back to your home country because you are PNP and it means you intend to stay in Canada.

It's a dicey situation. Some tried it & their spouses are given work permit. However, for most people, their spouses get denied.

Method:

Once you receive your nomination, don't send it to federal immediately. Apply for visiting visa for your spouse since you already have a work permit. CIC will issue him/her the visiting visa. Once he/she gets to the border, he/she can tell the immigration officer he/she wants to apply for a work permit and show evidence of the nomination certificate or after he/she enters Canada, you can apply for your spouse's work permit (include the nomination certificate showing your spouse's name). Once you send the application for work permit, send your application to Federal for PR processing.

I've seen this method work for people.

If you decide to quickly apply for Federal, your chances of being denied work permit & visiting visa for your spouse is 99%. Reason being that it will be 'conflict of interest'. CIC will say you should rather wait till you both get the visa.

Hope this helps!

Hello everyone,
I have found in a website that Section 5.27 of FW 1 deals with the issuance of work permits to provincial nominees. Under R204(c), work permits can be issued to prospective or actual provincial nominees. Spouses of provincial nominees are entitled to open work permits regardless of the skill level of the principal applicant.
I am working in a full time permanent job (Noc C) in Manitoba. Can anyone tell me what will be the procedure to apply for spouse work permit after getting Manitoba pnp.
