Dear Friends

I am from India and has received my closed work permit.
I am married and has a 2 month child.

I wish to take my child with me to Canada for which I am going to apply his visitor visa.

I plan to apply for my husband Open Work Permit once I am in Canada, having worked there for at least 2-3 months.

But someone here has suggested to me that I can also apply for his OWP along with my child's visitor visa while I am in India so that all three of us can travel together?
Can I do this?
My view has been that his application will carry more weight if I attach my Canadian pay slips for at least 2-3 months.
But the advice of a friend has got me thinking and for me it would be best if all 3 of us travel together.

Please advise.

Regards

You can apply for your spouse and child at the same time. Show funds especially for daycare, ties to home country for spouse and child. It can take several months to process, so you may want to go ahead and get settled. How were you planning to work and take your child, if spouse was not coming with you. Who is looking after your child?

Would apply for your spouse OWP before leaving India. If you have proof the you have a job waiting for you in Canada then he qualifies for the OWP. He may have to what around 6 months to get the OWP so please start as soon. You can update your address and even include proof of your recent pay stubs during the process.
