I have applied for an open work permit for my spouse. I am a full-time student for three years. It's been a month since file submission. so I just wanted to know how long it will take. If anyone just got a visa then please let me know. I checked the official website and it says 41-week waiting time.
Thank you.

41 weeks is the average so if you get a response before 41 weeks then you are fortunate. Expect that processing time.

Hello Naturgrl , You have mentioned " 41 Weeks average ", How are you so sure? Have come across such cases ?

I have been waiting for my OPW approval since 25th April 2021 (That's 39 Weeks).
The official IRCC Processing timeline has been updated to 50 Weeks (2 weeks shy of 1 Year ) , It has been very hard for us, it would be a relief if its really 41 weeks.

TIA

Times are always estimates do it can be 41-50 weeks or even longer. Approval also not guaranteed.

IRCC itself acknowledged the processing times showed in the website are wrong. Few days back they gave hope that most of the temporary resident visa will be cleared in the first quarter. Hopefully something should happen in the coming weeks

I have to apply open work permit inside Canada for my spouse but my closed work permit will be ended on Aug25 2022 and Moreover my company will do extend on my work permit. Now If I apply open work permit to my wife based on my work permit. Are they approve or reject?

They can either approve it or reject it

I got recently married (Dec 21). I have a Open PGWP. We applied for a visitor visa for my spouse in Jan 22 under Family Reunification as advised by a few friends. We mentioned in the visa that she would be staying in Canada temporarily until the expiry of my Work Permit. However we received a rejection a couple days ago, because they were not satisfied that she'd leave at the end of the stay (because of family ties in Canada vs India).

My wife is eligible for an open work permit.
We have the following doubts if we decide to go ahead with SOWP -

1. What concrete documents/ proof can we give so that this visa may not be rejected on the basis of family/ economic ties in Canada vs India.

2. If the visa processing takes a lot of time/ or is on hold, can we apply a visitor visa for her to come to Canada in the interim? What are the chances of them approving a add-up visitor visa on a pending Work permit?

3. I plan to apply for PR soon after she gets her SOWP. Would any of these above applications effect our chances of getting PR? I wanted to apply for PR directly but since there are no draws for CEC since 5 months and rumour is there wont be any for the next 6 months, i decided to go ahead with SOWP.

4. Incase cic starts inviting CEC for PR, can i apply for PR for the both of us while her SOWP is still in progress?

When does your PGWP expire? Do you have a job in NOC 0, A or B? How much time have you spent in person during your relationship? During the SOWP you can apply for a TRV but would suggest waiting for quite a few months because the first TRV has just been denied.

My PGWP expires on May 2023. I have an NOC A job. we spent 2 months in person since we got married. (Also updated the question, request you to provide some comments on the 3,4 if possible. TIA)

And by quite a few months, do you mean 3-4 months or do you have anyother approx number in mind?
