Hi all,

Wrapping up my forms for applying for PR for my USA spouse.

The checklist for the open work permit application requires photocopy of passport page showing: the stamp made by Canadian authorities on most recent entry into Canada.

However, as an American, who entered as a visitor in June 2016, and for whom I successfully extended her visit to January 2018, she does not have any stamps in her passport for entry to Canada.

Am i to submit something else? An explanation? Am I out of luck for a OWP application?

Please advise.

Thanks.

I also had a follow up question:

for her 10 year employment history, my wife has never worked

she went to school high school, undergrad ,post grad etc upto May 2015; after which she has been unemployed....we married in Oct 2015 and have been together ever since (she been here legally as a visitor multiple times)

on current, would I put unemployed from 2015 05 to date, or until 2015 10, our marriage date...guessing to date, but on one of her applications to extend stay as a visitor I put until our marriage date and that was accepted

Hi

Just include a short letter of explanation in place of the stamp. It's normal for visa-exempt people to not get a stamp on entry. No issues for the OWP.

If she has been unemployed since May 2015, then put that.

thanks for your valuable info

she has been unemployed, but doing some of her cdn professional exams for the last number of months...better to put unemployed the whole time, or include note regarding writing these professional exams?
