Open Work Permit Application Outside Canada

Dear Sir/Madam;

Currently, we are outside Canada but we will be there by end of Aug this year. I would like to knowing whether one can apply Open Work Permit before arriving to Canada?

It is because, we see in the form that a Canadian address is required to apply.


We can provide the Canadian address as of now; but we are not physically there yet. Can we apply?

What do you mean by Open Work permit? Is there any policy to apply in starting of study for open work permit.

Sorry, if my query was not clear.

I gonna study Master Degree, and my wife will follow me to Canada. Currently, we are outside Canada. We are thinking whether we can apply Open Work Permit for my wife before entering the country. So that, once we are there, she can just go ahead looking for job.


I am sure you aware, but would like to reiterate; the spouse of a Student Permit holder will receive Open Work Permit visa.


Kindly let us know whether we can apply Open Work Permit Visa before entering the country. Thanks.

yes ur spouse can apply for Spousal open work permit with ur application of study permit. u use thee same work permit application with additional documnts like ur marriage cert/license etc.
also make sure u have enough money to support u both as per the link below
