Hello to everyone in here,

I am not very educated about this subject but I am trying to figure out how my process will go for PR in BC. Here are some things about profile:

Current Open work permit expiry: Nov 2019
Skilled Experience: 1 year 1 month
Entered Canada as Student for two year diploma program and then received three year open work permit

I tried to calculate points for Express Entry but sadly my current education don't award me enough points to make cutout so only option I am left with process of low skill BC PNP which is said to take year and half at least, but my work permit won't be valid after year from now. I am not sure how renewal of permit works if that's a possibility based on my profile or what my best move should be and on what times.

Any insight and knowledge will be appreciated. Let me know if I any more details are needed.

Thank you for looking in!

You only have a few options for continuing to work after your PGWP has expired.

One would be to secure a job offer from an employer (could be your current employer or it could be someone else) and have that employer also obtain an approved LMIA. You could then apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

The other option would be to apply for a bridging open work permit if you have been successful in applying through the BC program and have received a nomination from BC.

Thank you so much for replying. So I guess my move will be to apply for BC PNP and if be successful in obtaining a nomination I can get a bridging work permit. Just few questions: How much time does it normally take for getting approved for nomination? and What's the length of bridging work permit I will be able to obtain?
