My mom's cousin lives in Ontario and is a Canadian Citizen.
I was wondering if I can list him as a tie to Ontario and what sort of proof/supporting document should I attach to support this claim?

Yes, you can list him as a tie. You can provide a copy of his passport and his DL. You can also provide a copy of his latest lease agreement (if available). This will suffice, IMO.

Yes, you can. The same proof goes for them - Their PR cards/Passports (if they are citizens) or work permits, their DL and lease agreement.

its good to show someone who is citizen. who can help u initially. find out some elder person. student is not a solid to me but if u dont have any alternative its fine

You also don't have to have much ties a there are people who have no relative living there but they talk about the Province, what makes it a desirous place to live and why you really want to be there. Here is an excerpt from my letter.


1. I would love for my family and I to move to Ontario for the following reasons: One of the most diverse cities in the world – Toronto is in Ontario. I love to live in a diverse city as I, along with my family, especially my children can learn from people of different culture.

2. Education for our kids is a major priority. Education in Canada is ranked amongst the best in the world at all levels up to university. Our children will get to continue learning French in a French Emersion school. Be well prepared to compete with graduates from other worldclass education system around the world.


3. Healthcare is comparable to the best in the world and at no extra cost to us.

4. Ontario is an International travel hub – with connections to places all over the world.

I don't have ties and hence I wrote up a LOE like this:

LETTER OF EXPLANATION

Subject: Ties to Ontario

Dear sir/madam,
I am writing this letter to inform you that I do not have any ties with Ontario, that is, I have presence of no relative or social connections in Ontario. However, I have the below mentioned reasons that convey my strong intention of making Ontario my permanent residence.
1. Being a software developer, I find Ontario opportunistic in terms of finding a job quickly and settling down.
2. Also, a similar reason is that Ontario has cities that are termed IT hubs.
3. Toronto being Canada’s financial center, it houses the technology development centers of investment banks. Since I have several years of experience in the banking domain, I find this apt for the progress of my career.
4. Once I am offered permanent residency with Ontario’s provincial nomination, I intend to try arranging my employment with the current employer (my present employer's name) who has a technology development center at Toronto.
