Please advise. I have 390 points in EE, only 10 pts short for possible invitation by OOPNP. How do you think I can get 10 more points to be eligible? I am thinking to retake IELTS although it will be very hard for me. Currently I have 7.5 overall. And if I get, say 8 overall, will my EE score increase to at least 400? And is it worth it? If I get the earliest available date for IELTS, I will get the results only during last week of July, do you think the quota for nominations will be reached by then?

You can check in the Comprehensive ranking system and see how many points an overall score of 8 in the IELTS exam will add to your score. I believe that would be CLB 10 or more if you get all 8s in the exam. Here is the link:

But if you already have an overall score of 7.5 at 390, I doubt an overall score of 8 will add 10 more pts to your score.

I faced the same problem with the score of 384. If you manage to reach 8.0 for all IELTS sections then you'll boost your overall score to +50 at least. Another problem is that reaching 8.0 for all sections is not so easy as it seems at first sight.
