I have a question,
in the application form of OOPNP, they required "Certified true copies of applicant's university degree(s), college diploma(s) and/or occupational certificates *"

I have a NON Canadian Bachelor's degree, and I have "Credential Assessment (ECA) Report", so should I include a Certified true copies of my certification or not?? ??

Note: in the documentation it lists the "Certified true copies" only If you have a Canadian degree. so it's confusing :-\

Anyone who apply before with same case could help me please?

Also, there is another document "Evidence of good academic standing and length of program(s) completed (spouse or common-law partner only)" , is that means the assessment report copy of my wife's Bachelor's degree?????

OPTION 1) Just include a copy of your ECA report

OPTION II) Include a degree certificate copy (certified) along with ECA report

I chose the later option as there is no harm in submitting another page. If you don have that, just go with OPTION I

"Evidence of good academic standing and length of program(s) completed (spouse or common-law partner only)"

Is that means the assessment of my spouse certification??

This is applicable only if your spouse had their education inside Canada.

From Pg 19 of the Application Guide...

Spouse or common-law partner’s education:

If your spouse or common-law partner finished at least two academic years of full-time study (in a program at least two years long) at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada, provide the following documentation:

 A certified true copy of their certificate, diploma or degree granted from an academic institution in Canada;
 Official letter (on institution letterhead) from the academic institution confirming that he/she has stayed in good academic standing (as set out by
the school) and the length of the program completed;
 Official transcripts submitted as part of a complete application package in the original sealed envelope from the academic institution in Canada that granted the degree; AND
 Copies of immigration document(s) authorizing the study in Canada.

But in the check list you should check the "certificate true copy" option, it's always mandatory. !!! any help

Hi,
I had a similar question and contacted OOPNP via email (ask an expert) and phone call. This is the exact email response from OOPNP:

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee Program.

You are only requested to provide certified true copies of your degrees obtained abroad if you are applying under the 'Master's Graduate Stream'

If you are applying to Ontario Express Entry and you have a degree from outside of Canada, please provide the copy of the ECA report:

The ECA report must be issued on or after the date CIC designated the organization;
o The ECA report must not be more than five years old on the date that CIC receives your Express Entry profile and your application for permanent residence; AND
o The ECA report must state that your credential is the equivalent of a Canadian Bachelor's degree or higher.

Please review the Application Guide for Ontario- Human Capital Priorities Stream for more information : http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/prodconsum/groups/csc/ @ oipp/documents/document/oi_en_hcps.pdf

I hope this has been of some assistance to you."

I think it is a good idea to include a copy of your degree certificate as well (mostly because so many people have had their Federal applications rejected due to that).

To answer your question regarding good academic standing:

I believe it applies only if you or your spouse are currently enrolled in a study program. In that case, you may get an enrollment verification letter from the Registrar's office at your institution, and include an incomplete transcript, if possible. They do have a form for 'good academic standing' per se for the PhD stream, however that is not applicable in this case.

And yes, you will have to check the 'certified true copies' in the checklist, because there is no way around it. I speculate they have the same/similar checklist for all streams and therefore it appears as 'certified true copies'.

Hope this helps!

Hi tarikelmallah -

Just wanted to know what you ended up submitting as far as your degree documents were concerned and if you had received any kind of response. I'm in the same boat.

Thanks!
