Hi,

For the certified true copy , how can we get this ??? I have a Canadian Bachelor degree. I went and ask them but they don't do this. They only provide you another copy which takes more than 3 weeks :'(

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/goc/cep/how_certified.shtml there is this link but it only say for IDENTITY documents ... does it apply for education degree as well?
You are correct. it's for identity documents only. I just called up my university and the registrar's office advised me to bring my original degree, they will make a photocopy themselves and then certify it using the registrar's stamp. Also my university will provide me with official transcripts in a sealed envelope for a small fee.

I would suggest, you to call some of the higher authorities in your university and discuss with them. I am sure they will have a way out.

Hi Dilbert,

I have a bunch of questions here. Would you please take a look? Thank you.

1. I don't have middle name, should I leave it blank? or put N/A? [A. 1 Personal Information]

2. Citizenship field should be filled up with the name of the country? I mean should it be “Canada or Canadian” for example. [A. 2 Personal Information]

3. What should be the length of stay while I am working currently in Canada for the last 1.5 years? [A. 6 Personal Information]

4. I worked in a restaurant for 3 weeks while I was looking for job - should it be mentioned or not in the personal history? I received T4 for that. [D. Occupation and Education]
5. I have done my Masters (part time ) while working full time back home. Should I mention both? Because there will be overlapping dates then. Is it a problem? [D. Occupation and Education]

6. You must provide a statement of intent stating your reasons to settle in Ontario and your ties to Ontario- do you have a sample?

7. Should we send the certificates along with ECA or only ECA? I have no Canadian degree. My engineering and masters are both assessed by WES. I am confused because last year my application was returned just because I did not send certificate and transcript, sent only WES ECA.

8. While I am declaring myself to be assessed under CEC, do I have to provide reference letter for all previous jobs or only Canadian jobs? Because the application Guide has different section and requirements for FSW and CEC. But the checklist is a general one for everyone, I believe. Could you please mention or create a checklist for CEC?

Thank you very much and I apologize if any of these questions are already answered or stupid questions :(

Hey Guys,

For those who have got the OOPNP invite, how are you going to get the employment reference letters from previous/current employers on company letter head.

As this has been discussed on several other threads, where getting the official letter for PR purpose is difficult as the comapnies are not willing to provide them.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey guys.. any help here..

Thanks

Hi, Dilbert.

Here're some frequent questions that we need your help:
1. True certificate copy of degree certification. Does a noterized degree certification serve the same purpose?
2. Previous work history. Do we need to noterize the reference letter from previous employer as well as the copy of employment contracts and pay stubs?
And also if you could provide some ref for the reference letter will be much appreciated!

Thanks

Hi

I am confused on what to fill in "To date" of the current occupation under work history. Should I just leave it blank?

Also, in case of ECA and IELTS should we attach the originals or a copy?

Any pointers highly appreciated.
You cannot leave the "To Date" blank for your current occupation, it will give you an error since it's a mandatory field. IN my case I am on a contract so I filled in the end date of my current contract. I would suggest you to do the same if you are on a contract, else if you are permanent you can give a future date. 5 yrs from today should be good in my opinion.

Regarding ECA & IELTS , I suggest you read the other posts that members have contributed. you can find the answer there

Hi Dilbert,

I have been all over the OOPNP site, I have a couple of technical questions to which I could not find any answers myself.

1. Say a person receives OOPNP PT on 1st July, then technically they shall have that notification for 45 days or once you accept it then you get those 45 days as application submission period?

2. Supposedly on 1st July, the points stood at 415, the candidate gets PT. On 4th July, his/her spouse's IELTS expires bringing his/her points down to 399. [he/she(the spouse) having already taken the IELTS EXAM and shall have the result by 10th July pushing the score beyond 400 again] In that case will the PT be revoked immediately as soon as the score goes south of 400? or Will the Candidate be able to retain the PT for 45 days and send a complete application along with updated scores, and the situation explained via a cover letter?

1) Yes put "N/A" under the middle name field. You need not necessarily do it at the time of filling the soft copy. You can do this with a pen later once you print it out.
2) Country of Birth "parent country, as per your passport" , citizenship " same country + "in" or "an" or "ian". For example my country of birth is "India", citizenship is "Indian" (since I am an Indian passport holder), country of residence "Canada". Although in your case I am not sure why you are saying "Canada" or "Canadian" for citizenship, if you are already a Canadian citizen you don't even need the EE or anything else.
3)Visits to Canada: I'll give you my example
line 1 : Reason-Study ; Province-ON; Length of Stay-5yrs; Year of Visit-2008 (provide copy of study permit for evidence)
line 2 : Reason - Work/PGWP holder ; Province-ON; Length of Stay- 2yrs+; year of visit - 2008 (provide copy of work permit for evidence)
4) Yes, you would need to mention it, do not leave gaps under occupation/education.
5) You can mention both part time masters and work and provide a letter of explanation and a lot of paperwork or avoid it and just mention work. You are your own best judge here. I would suggest go with the same information that you mentioned at the time of filling up EE profile.
6) Don't have a sample yet, but I will be preparing one soon, will post it on the forum once ready.
7)You answered your own question here. You mentioned you were rejected for not sending those documents, hence don't make the same mistake twice. submit the required documents.
8) Section D3 (personal and work history) Need to provide all work experience(Canadian and/or foreign) + unemployment period + studies etc for last 10 yrs.

The CANADA only criteria in Section E is for spouse only and NOT principal applicant.
Will paste the checklist at some point later today. ;D

Dilbert and All,

I have done my education outside of Canada, I have a diploma, bachelor's and masters. I have evaluated the bachelors and masters but did not evaluate the diploma. My express entry profile contains this diploma as well. Is it mandatory to have ECA done for this diploma as well. Can someone please clarify.

You get points for highest qualification - Masters in your case. I think you can ignore the diploma.

All the best!

45 days starts from the time you receive the PT. Which means you have to accept it within those 45 days else it will lapse on it's own. (http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL_FAQ.html)

2. Supposedly on 1st July, the points stood at 415, the candidate gets PT. On 4th July, his/her spouse's IELTS expires bringing his/her points down to 399. I don't think the PT will be revoked once given. MCIIT can either accept, cancel or return your application as incomplete after you submit it to them but there is no action taken by THEM in that 45 day window that is provided to you from the day you receive the PT. And a suitable covering letter explaining the requirement of retaking the IELTS should suffice.

I am aware that I get points for Masters but my question is I have already added the Diploma in EE profile and have also got TI from OO PNP. Now for document submission i have the WES ECA done for bachelors and Masters. Will OO PNP expect me to have a evaludation done for diploma as well as it is already there in express entry profile.

It totally depends on one's individual situation. There is no generalization here. In my case I was able to get in touch with my employers whom I worked for more than 7 yrs ago and got the original reference letter on a company letterhead with a company stamp sent to me in 10 days. My approach was basically, draft a sample reference letter. send them an email saying it's for PR purpose, explain what a NOC code is, attach the draft letter, make a few editions over email after some consultations and then I got the letter sent me through courier.

Again, my case my employers, my relation with my current/ ex employers is totally different from yours. Hence I am sorry there is no straightforward answer to your question. All I can suggest is if your manager is not willing to give you the letter, contact HR or vice versa or talk /send email to a senior manager.

No. CIC doesn't expect that and I'm fairly confident that OOPNP isn't going to be different in this case.

Of course, your diploma can and will be a part of your education profile and possibly your personal profile as well for time spent studying but you don't need an ECA for that.
