Hello ,

I was wondering how long usually it takes pre-screening to be done as I have applied its more then a month and acknowledgement i receive it says 90 days but my lawyer is saying like there are files pending more then 4-5 months . And my problem is my work permit and visa is getting expired in month so what should i do should i wait for the answer or should i extend my work permit but my lawyer is not helping me at all as per him i have to opt study or visitor visa in which i cant work please help me what should i do and how i can extend my work permit

Pre screening applicants are waiting since 1 year, so if ur company is private and is applying first time pre screening for u, so it will take around 9 momths to 1 year. U have option apply visitor visa or study permit. If u apply study permit ask ur employer will he provide u 20 hours per week and if he does nd if u think payment is ok, u can work while studying. Or other option is to apply workpermit extension paper application and in few months say arund 3 to 5 months u will get rejection and u will b in restoration status and that time u will have only option is to move to visitor visa. Sorry if i confused u, but that is all option u have. Good luck.. Hope things work out soon for u. God bless.

Thnx alot for ur ans its useful for me and also what if i go back and my pre screening takes its 9 month or more can i apply visa back to canada as pre screening is approved or its mandatory i have to stay in canada till pre screening n all

Nothing like that, ur application wont be affected even if u leave canada, they just need valid status through out application. If u wish to get visitor visa, and suppose u leave country, u can still extend ur vsistor visa till ur application is in process. Some of people opt for student visa because there employer was ready to offer 20hours per week and some opt for visitor visa. I known its bit tricky situation, but decision u have to make out, God bless :)
