Hi Guys,

Can someone please help me urgently.
I am preparing my Ontario nomination package and have noticed that they are asking for a copy of the original Birth
certificate.
The date of birth certificate I have was issued by the consulate general of India in accordance with my passport and I do not have an original birth certificate which would have been issued at the time of my birth. Would they accept my Certificate of DOB from the consulate?
The application guide is asking to provide a letter from appropriate government authority indicating why your birth certificate is not available.
Do I need to provide the above letter? I currently live in Australia and not sure who can issue such a letter?
Urgent response is appreciated!!!!!
Thank You!!

AFAIK, In case you are born before 1990 in India, it was not mandatory as per Indian govt to issue Birth Certificates with name. Post 1990, it was mandatory, hence, you dont carry the birth certificate. Hence, you can get an affidavit notarized and send it to them. Notaries have the format for the Birth Certificate affidavit which they can provide to you.
