In their last piece of news, Ontario stated that

We’re improving our system:

Ontario is committed to providing an efficient and streamlined application processing system. Improvements to the OINP application process will be implemented in the coming months – including a move to an online application processing system. Our goal is to make it easier to apply, and to improve processing times.

In light of what happened when Quebec in February, this seems like a disaster! Ontario has one of two options:

1.to use a cap-based criteria just like what Quebec did, and say they will just process the first ~2500 uploaded applications, or

2.use a score based system for those who applied, which turns it into tier 2 Express Entry. too exhausting! this can also be legally challenged if they do not have the procedure.

What do you think this will unfold into?

I applied to SINP, which is purely online, and there wasn't any problem at all. It was pretty quick, I think I completed the entire PNP application in 3 hours or so, which included filling out the paper forms, printing, then scanning them. I could have been nominated in 2 months upon submitting my application, but that's another story.

Once the quota is reached, you are informed and you cannot proceed with submitting the application. Also, if you don't meet the pass mark in SINP's scoring system or meet the minimum qualifications, you can't proceed with the application either.

Seems too premature to judge OINP's upcoming online system just because of Quebec's snafu. There is a precedent for a successful and easy online PNP application system with SINP, and we should hope ON can look to a successful example while looking to avoid the shortcomings of the other.

They have 2700 quota , which has been already filled.
