I am also in same waiting list , almost 50days over , my visa office is NDVO. might be something will come in next week , it will take 55 - 60 days to complete the process

thanks

Dear Punjabi

Dear did you get MR? I did not get MR even. Are you sure? we may get something next week? Because as per their website there are 9 months for Isb Pak. But, actual practice says that maximum of applicant under FSW Pilot got either MR or Visa against OWP.

Do comment pls..

Thank You.

hi,

I did not get Medical request yet .
its will take 2 months processing time in New Delhi .
one of my friend got in 55 days medical and after submitting the medical get visa in 10 days

before that it was one month but due to high volume of applications they increase time to 2 month

Hi Punjabi & Salooni,

My OWP application has already completed 60 days on 6th April 2013 but yet MR is not requested.

One of my friend received MR on 54th day after applying.

I've applied directly (i.e. not through VFS). How can I know my application number?
Some members get application number along with MR. Is there any way by which we can get our OWP application number?

hi
You can track your application below three Modes, if you have no File number you can use the SMS Facility that is better it will track your application on your passport number.

We advise you to check/track your passport/visa application status by using the following three modes:-

Helpline Number : Please refer to our “Contact Us” page: http://vfs-canada.co.in/contactus.html
SMS Facility: Type VISA CD (PASSPORT NUMBER) and send by SMS to 57333.
Track Passport Status Online:http://vfs-canada.co.in/visatracking.html

Thanks

Thanks Punjabi and Chintan. I suggest we should update each other when get any updates. I think these methods (Which you listed) of tracking application status are valid for India only. here in Pakistan, there is only way i.e. email, to which they don't answer.

Thanks and hope for good news soon.

@punjabi 22Ji,

It seems Chintan has applied directly ( Not through VFS ) so he won't be able to check his status using VFS methods as you described above. I feel he has filled all the forms and sent his application through Speed Post / Courier to CIC at NDVO.

My Exp : In the order of Application Method Preference :

1. Apply through VFS - 1st Preference. They will verify the necessary docs + You will have one point of contact.

2. Apply by submitting your package at NDVO Visa office in Person so that u have a receipt / file number and track your application by raising Case specific Inquiry if it exceeds normals process timelines . But there is one drawback, because your passports will reach back to you through Speed Post ( In India ) so u will always be chasing a Postman .

3. Apply Online - You have file Number so that u can track your application by raising Case specific Inquiry. But I feel this is slow method, First u scan all the docs / reduce their file sizes and upload them ( Server Crashes Many times and other technical challenges ) . Then they ask for medical request followed by passport submission request , so this channel consumes a substantial amount of time and effort. Plus you end up paying more ( You pay in Dollars application fees + again for passport submission you need to follow VFS route and pay VFS processing fees . )

As per my understanding Online application method is 1st preferred route if you are within Canada.

3. Apply Through Postal mail - Least Preferred method . Because u don't get any acknowledgement / File Number unless your medical request is generated. So keeping your fingers crossed while waiting without any clue about your file number.

I hope this experience will help you in deciding which application method you wanna follow. I just shared my personal experience.
