I have confirmed that we dont have to fill any form before leaving our country.. all forms will be given to us at airport and get filled in-front of concerned officers.

we just have to have passport and landing papers and that is all ..!!!

Hello Zain,

No documents for Laptops, Tablets or Cell Phone if its in use, if its pin packed then you need to pay duty and i dont know what are the duty structure.


if its 15KG in excess better to purchase one excess baggage and fill up to 23 KG, check in timely manner from Emirates airlines.

Just the letter / document you got, passports...

plus snacks and water - and maybe tablet/cell phones for kids... and they will definitely bored while waiting do expect 0-4 hrs. of waiting...

reached 10 pm it was super easy only 3 people ahead of me.

done everything , remember to fill customs form goods to follow so that u dont end up paying taxes when u bring ur house hold stuff from back home.

In the previous post I saw someone mentioned that officers at POE ask new immigrant to provide address where PR card will be delivered, if I plan to initially stay at some relatives like 2-3 weeks and then move to a rented place, which address do I need to provide to officer in this case. Also does new immigrant have any other option like to update address later etc. Can someone please reply to this query.

You should provide the address where you are staying now (even if you plan to move to a new place later) - work it out with your relatives, so when you get the card, they can send it to you. Why bother to go through update address option... the process isn't long enough... it takes 54 days...

Thanks zizu and Ahmed. Those are my close relatives so they can update/deliver the card to me. I was just curious about whether authorities hand over PR card to respective person only or they can deliver to anyone who is present at that address like in Pakistan special mail is only handed over to family members when they can show my ID card.
