This is surprising.......I believe you will get visa by email......

Ok so here's the update... the status was updated yesterday and I got the email today... (yay)...

BUT... and it is a big LVO BUTT....

the passport request clearly states on top that

*** This letter is meant only for applicants residing in Pakistan. If you received this letter and do not reside in Pakistan, Please contact our office for further instructions.****

the BUTT part is... that when I call LVO - the phone system has 3 options

1. Immigration
2. Canadian Services (for Canadian Citizens)
3. Other information

in Immigration section - they just blab about going to their website... and kick me out of that menu... if I go to option 2 - it says its only for Canadian Citizens and will not answer any queries on visa/immigration related matter.... and third option is for commercial inquiries...

How the @$(*#_ am I suppose to talk to them... emailing will mean... another 24 days before I get response...

any suggestions...

1. No I am not in Pakistan - I am in Canada
2. Email is with an attachment that describes me to send my passport to Islamabad office


The problem is I am in canada - they did write in their letter to 'contact' their office, however the only means to contact them is email - as LVO phone is of no use - you can not get pass the answering machines...

Hello Zizu,

You can write e-mail to LVO and CC to CPC ottawa if you are at the stage where Immigrant visa is to be issued.

Eventually you have to send your Passports to CPC-ottawa, but i dont know if you have updated your address with CIC / LVO and online portal to Canadian address ? If you have then they shouldnt mention Islamabad anymore. , but get down to this matter ASAP because they reply quite late.

write URGENT on the subject line when you shoot e-mail. GCMS flags URGENT and Priority mails for replies by the officers.

go back and search in this forum different pages.. there are many people who landed to Canada on their OWP and then they were asked to send their passport to ISLAMABAD office. then read those thread and post what they did and how they did.......i hope and believe you will get an answer.. if you are in Canada then trust me there is nothing to worry about.... you are in Canada... do one thing .. do what ever you are doing to contact them but besides that just drop them an email for safe side....

First thing I did was to hit 'reply' on that email and told them to send further instructions as I was in Canada. As per your suggestion - I will shot another one thru CSI portal and see if that lands any quicker.

Also - do you have CPC-ottawa's email that i can use?

Will do the URGENT bit as well...

was also thinking if I could use FAX to contact LVO - but these guys have shielded themselves so nicely - there is no fax number that I can use for LVO...

I also went thru the same situation three months back. I am in Canada and my visa office Abu Dhabi asked me to send passport to them. I wrote email to them explained the situation and got an email to send passports to ?Ottawa. Do not panic. Wait.

Thanks for your note - How long did they take to reply to your email... was it standard 20+ days? and did you send the email to same ldnimmigration @ cic....

I became panic as I sent 3 emails to ADVO and even cic office and called cic. No reply came from cic and call center agent said that they can't help. But after a week, ADVO sent another email and asked me to send passports to CPC Ottawa. But I was so impatient that I sent my passports directly to CPP Ottawa even before I receive email from ADVO. Don't do this. Wait and you will soon get email from Your visa office.

This sounds familiar - I have also sent two emails, one CSI,, one email to ottawa - plus a call to call center. But now I am not panicking after reading your note. I kind of realize if I can wait for 9 years to get here, I can be calm and collected for next 1 month as well ... ADVO may be quick but I know LVO usually takes its sweet time... so it looks like a month...

I have gone through my reassessment of medical validity around 15 days a go.

Should i apply for GCMS notes?
