@ canimmigrate : Getting US pcc is quite simple process and for India u need to identify your Jurisdiction and send out the docs there.

What is the process of obtaining the POC from here in US?
Also, my wife is currently in India but has lived in US for more than 6 months. Can I apply the PCC on her behalf or what is the process? She will be back in US mid of next month.
I also need to get the copies of the passport attested/notarized here in US as I'm currently here. Is anyone aware how to do it?

Just found out that US notaries can do it or we can also get the copies attested from Indian Consulate IN US.
But I'm still not clear about the process of obtaining the POC from here in US.

canimmigrate : You get get this attested from UPS too they will charge 5 $ per copy or stop by in Bank where you have account they can do it for free.

Regarding process u need to send all the docs(notarized) + cashiers check in consulate name if requesting by mail then need to send back return shipment.

Sorry I'm not clear but I think u mean:
For Attestation/Notarization of passport: I can get it done from my Bank. Or I can get it done from US Postal? Bank will do it for free and UPS will charge $5 each copy. Are such attestation/notaization accepted by CIC?

How to get PCC from here. For me: I'm currently in US? For my wife: She is currently in India. Really appreciate you taking time to help me with this information.

Yes banks generally can notarize copies for free if you have an account..BOA does not do now but can cross verify.

Oh that is wonderful if I can get the notarization done from bank. Mine is from chase and pretty close so I can check immediately.
I live in Conneticut.

Thanks but that is for PCC from India. But since me and my wife have lived in US for more than 6 months, we will need PCC both from India and US. I wanted to know about how to obtain PCC from US authorities. I checked on CIC website and it seems we need to apply to FBI office here for PCC from US.

Also it seems banks, atleast chase, do not certify the copies of all pages of the passport. According to chase I need to give them a letter along with the photocopies saying that these photocopies are of my passport and they will stamp that letter after cheking my passport and staple that letter along with photocopies. They will not stamp/certify each photocopy. They will just stamp the letter that I give. I'm not sure whether that will be enough.

Yes that should be enough.. most notaries just attach a page on top and mention no of pages.. so you should be good. I did same thing in my case

Yes kabayan i put my middlename on given neme(s). I submitted my docs 10days ago to NS via the courier address. Dhl trackng shws it was received last week. Now it is time to wait for the medical instructions.
