Dear friends,I have applied for OWP,they hold my passport for about six months and refused my application.....For those who are thinking for OWP needs to be think on it......

I recall that there was an earlier post for someone on this forum who tried to use this option now and his application was rejected. I also think that this option may be on hold now as we are actually subject to investigation because this OWP option.

I come here in Canada in March 2014 still i am jobless ........Even i can not do any odd job , as on my OWP , there is clealy mentioned that i can not do any other than my NOC code

and You know , we all submit our PR fee and medicals has done. and unexpectedly after coming last email regarding QA ( as many guys think ) . our applicant hang and nothing is in process...........

Now i am also suffering some financial problem and want to go back Pakistan.............

what you suggest , should i go back Pakistan and wait my PR and then come back .........

Let suppose , i go back , There will be any effect on my PR case status..........as i come Canada and did not find job and now going back Pakistan.....

Hi VuExpert,

I would advice you not to leave Canada, believe in yourself. This is best time (Sep-Nov) to get job. Try to maximize your chances to get hired by not stick to one location, salary or certain industry and in the end its all by will of God.

We were about to receive PPR (provided landing fee paid) when we got the request for additional documents. Hopefully, when our applications are done with QA/further investigation, we will get the PPR right away.
I don't know if you still got your job in Pakistan. If you could manage finanaces for two and half month more, keep searching job and wait until December(as suggested above) before making decision. I am sure by that time we have clear picture about PR. As per OWP invitation letter "applying for OWP is voluntary and would not effect PR application". I know few people who got OWP but still in Pakistan or they went to Canada on OWP and returned and waiting for their PR applications to approve.

Hi Friends,

I understand there are several changes undergoing in CIC since June of 2014 and some (or all) of the following may impact us (irrespective of the stream). Many of these are not proposal but already in-effect. Perhaps all of these are paving the path to the new express system slated to commence from Jan2015.

(A) The NOC code system of 2011 is changed to a NEW Wage linked code system. (managerial (NOC 0), professional (NOC A) or skilled trades (NOC B) semi skilled (NOC C) and labour (NOC D))
(B) CIC is replacing the LMO with LIMA (except in the case of IMP)
(C) The emphasis of CIC is to ensure jobs are protected for Canadians over temporary workers.
(D) CIC has increased the fee (from 275 to 1000) prospective employer must pay to get LIMA for a temporary worker
(E) Registered Employers are being asked if they considered Canadians; interviewed them; why rejected; etc before LIMA is issued.
(F) This apparently will reduce the burden on Canadian TAX payer and reduce/eliminate the gross irregularities that were taking place.
(G) CIC has already Blacklisted a few employers and listed them too.
(H) Moreover CIC is imposing a system of accountability including heavy penalty if necessary if employers are found guilty.
(I) Hence all OWP from all provinces are CLOSED and more preference to Employer with LIMA linked to prospective employee.
(J) Change in the definition of dependent child age is reduced from 22 to 19.

Ok today I got a message from CIO Sydney saying my application was with Abu Dhabi Visa office. I copied them on the email for the additional documents needed for verification after PPR along with CPC Ottawa. So am assuming these are two different departments. But still no news from CPC Ottawa any thoughts guys

We are all just waiting for our fate there is no news as yet. I am checking other forms as well but all are quite like ours. So let us wait and see what happens....

One way out is to check the notes on your file but I believe once there is a decision it will not go to file only they will equally inform you along with your file....so wait and see is the only policy for the time....

I think everyone who have submitted additional documents should email to cpc-ctd-ottawa @ cic.gc.ca asking them politely the status of processing after the submission of documents. In this email we also need to emphasize that we belong to Ontario FSW Backlog Pilot category and we were nominated by Ontario and we waited for Y years before we were given a chance to apply for this program. We have already done medical and paid RPRF /passport request received.

The purpose is just to give them wake up call to expedite the processing at CPC end. Also mention your File Number and UCI

Brother, I would siggest you to try to stay on in canada as job search takes long time. If you have family with you, send them back as this will ease financial burden. For job search go to agencies like robert half, michael page, hays group and randstand as they have contractual job placements. I hope you get a job soon.
