Yes, we sent original passports and it took almost 55 days. But let it be in process I suggest. If God forbid, you have some problem with your h1, atleast you have an option to go to canada. I know this h1 process is so frustrating, have you applied for the extention of h1.
You still have a couple of months, for extention u dont need passport I guess.

Hi hadeel, h1 is work visa issued by usa to work here. So most of the people working in Usa are on h1 visa.

Yes need to apply for extension Company only applies in the last month so... surprisingly I got a letter for 2nd AOR which states that they will process my application within 6 months have any one received this ?

My Visa office is New Delhi.

It took 55 days by the newyork consulate to stamp my visa, and I got it two weeks later, after visa issuance date. I didnt applied online, sent them through fedex with return envelope.

I landed in beginning of January. On the very next day, I obtained my Social Insurance Number (SIN), and opened a bank account. My profession is in demand here (mobile software developer), thus I found work very quickly. My employer asked me only for my SIN. The only implication for working with OWP is that you need to wait three months from the day you start working and until you are eligible for OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan).
