Ontario Express Entry - International Students

Hey Folks,

I just read the details in regards to Ontario Express Entry streams. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't qualify.

The killing requirement is that "You must have a Canadian Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree OR an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report issued by a designated organization indicating that your foreign education is the equivalent of a Canadian Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree."

Let me know, if I'm wrong.

You're wrong. Read the statement again. You'll need an educational assessment is all. Same requirements for EE anyway.

well some people wont quality who dont have bachelors degree from their home country and who havent done any degree in canada. but most people will have a bachelors from home country

I don't understand how you're misreading this!

From what I see, this means that you're eligible under this program if EITHER you have done your Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate from Canada OR if you have done Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate from outside Canada provided you have also done an ECA for the same and it shows equivalency to Canadian standards as Bachelors/Master/Doctorate. Period!

I understand that, you have to meet either one of the requirement.

Problem is that, Bachelor is so expensive in Canada, that most international don't do that. Two to three years diplomas are the most popular one.

Most people have at least a bachelor's, if not from Canada then from their home country. Its like, basic requirements for most jobs these days anyway, just doing a diploma would be a waste of time.
To get over 400 points wouldn't most people need to have a certain level of education anyway?

Not really. With 1 or 2 years of experience + Canadian Diploma + good IELTS (CLB 7 or 8), you should be able to cross 400.
