Dear Friends,

I got my passport back from Detroit. The approx wait time for stamping is 10 days....my heartiest wishes to all and look forward to meet you all there....will sure once we all reach there we should arrange a re-union to know each other and share experiences!!! 8)

I am landing in calgary on July 2nd and flying back on 5th using AVR. I will post my experiences once I successfully make it back. This forum has been of tremendous help reaching this far. Calgary is one damn expensive place, I tried finding rental cars and they are 70$ a day, thats ludacris. Will stay in downtown and have seen that Service canada office is a couple of mins walk. I have a PO Box address for the PR Cards and I dont know if its acceptable, my friend lives in a small town and he doesnt have home postal service hence PO Box, hope the Immigration officers wont object. Best of luck to u all!!!!!

Am really surprised that there's a town in Alberta with no home postal address or post service ! What place is this?

Landing on July 1st, anyone on the same boat ??

Is there any procedure in order to take the rental car from the U.S to Canada and driving back ?

Hello Seniors,

Landing question - If we have more than $10000 in bank, but taking some (<5000) in cash, rest will do wire transfer, then should we show the full amount (> 10000) at the border crossing? Or only the amount we take ? Is bank statement sufficient as proof of funds?

Please help.

Thanks.

Seniors and Folks who completed the landing please advice. The CIC website says "Remember to order the Supplementary Identification Form (IMM 5455)" Is this something I need to order or will they give it to us when we land at Calgary airport. I am trying to complete applications required for landing. Please help. thanks.

Hi

I realy would appreciate some advice regarding how to proceed further in my situation, any suggestions experienced peaople on this forum have for me would be valuable.
I recently got my Permananet Resident Application approved through the Provincial Nomination program of Alberta State. I am currently working in the United States for a multi-national company which has offices all around the world including Canada. I do not plan to move to Canada soon. I was wondering is there provision which will allow me to continue working in the US and somehow have my stay in the US count towards Canadian Stay i.e. my time spent in the US counts towards the two years required to confirm my PR status in Canada without having to move to Canada permanently. My US employer have a filed a Green Card application for me in the US, I filed for Canadian immigration as a backup , however I do not want to lose my PR status in case I do not move to Canada and continue working here in the US.

Also in the above scenario is not possible, is it possible to enter canada before my RPR visa expires and wait for 3 years before immigrating there permananetly or do I need to move their immediately, if I enter in BC as its closer to where I live ,can I give my friend's address in Calgary to have my PR card sent there or do I need to be present in Canada for some days to receive PR card and other such documents.
Please suggest best course of action for me.

Thanks
