Hello AlbEErta....
My understanding is that one's country of birth is usually also one's country of citizenship unless they renounced their citizenship to become naturalized citizens of another country...or unless they are dual or multi-citizens---in the latter case your country of birth is one of two or more countries in which you are a citizen. So were you born in a country that did not grant you citizenship by birth??? I don't even know what I am saying anymore...you just got me confused. Why is your country of birth not your country of citizenship??

Hello all,

I got my passport request FINALLY after more than 2 years into this program! I sent my passport the same day, and today I got it back with my visa stamped in it! I was super excited, but when I looked at the document closely, I saw that they made a mistake on the country of Citizenship on my CPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). They put down the country I was born in, as my country of citizenship..... I sent them an email to inquire about that....

Did anyone have any experience with this? I am worried it would take a lot of time to fix this.... I was hoping to do my landing in the next couple of weeks....

Hi guys,
I went to Buffalo and had my visa stamped in person today. It was quick and smooth like some of our friends on here have noted before. I went up @ 0730 and was out by 0830 with visa and COPR in hand. If you plan to go in person, I would say try and get there early because there may be a crowd. I was lucky to be among the first to be admitted but there was a room full of folks waiting when I left.
I plan to move permanently to Alberta before June (Visa is valid until November).
Thanks again to all of you who offer not just helpful info but also encouragement on a regular basis.
To those still waiting, Godspeed to you...your day is coming.
I will update the forum when I take the next big step.
Thank you!

Congrats!! thanks for sharing the good news.
