Congrats VS rao.... Seems things are moving quiet good... But it is time for June Applicants to see AOR/medical requests. The time lag is certainly going long.

Hi All....

Just want to share my experience and frustration with CIC.

As you all probably know, CIC does not transfer files to other consulates, in case you had to move back to your home country in the middle of your application process. And unfortunately, you are also not allowed to mail your passport across country borders according to Indian law. Your only option is to send it through an authorized representative and have it stamped.

I was reading somewhere about open work permits and decided to email CIC and ask them if I am eligible to apply for one. An open work permit does not require a job offer or a LMO, and is usually given to spouses of people who are already working in Canada. I explained to CIC about the status of my application, and they said I was eligible to apply.

So, I sent in my application, along with the email confirming eligibility. After 10 days, they sent back my passport back saying that I was misinformed. Unless, I have a job offer I cannot apply for a work permit.

So much for their information. Lost $150/- on the application, and a waste of time and energy. With the PR process being delayed, the emotional roller coaster is really getting to me.

Sorry, I know this is not the place, but had to just share my frustration.
Hi Chigirl,
Sorry to hear that. I didnt know about that kind of work permit.
But other than that, I can understand the frustation...bcos, I am also in the same boat.
keep your faith..things r moving faster..be positive..

my question is...
did any body else receive ppr by post?
bcos, I thought, ppr is by email..
I have moved to India and changed my address also.
Thats why I am concerned, if ppr is sent by regular post..

Congrats!! Are you stil in Detroit? who's the one who move to Brasil?

The notification delivery system appears to be quite dynamic! I note some folks have learned about their file transfer thru eCAS.
Going by the number of folks who've received PPR by email I think you'dre safe and will get it by email. Look for eCAS updates too - by that you'll at least know 2 -3 weeks after they send you a notification.

Have you not done any mail redirection? You can still do it thru Internet - redirect it to friend's house address.

Hello Digital,

It was stamped on October 25, 2010.

I sent them a return expressmail USPS with stamp affixed. So, I already had the tracking number from the local post office.

I sent my PP on October 19th and received on 29th !!

Hope this helps!!

Hi Rezendgi,

Congratulations for your visa. what is date which is on the the stamped visa? Otherwise, what date did buffalo stamp your visa? was it mail back to you via expressmail in the us ? if so, when was it mail to you according to ur tracking number ? and when did you actually receive it on you post box?

Thank you in advance for your reply,

Does CIC always send PPR via email or by snail mail as well?

My online status has been updated with "Medical has been received" last week, so just making sure that I don't miss my PPR.

thanks,
