Hi All!

I am waiting for PPR after completing the medicals (Aug, 25), through AINP H1B category. I am in India currently. I have to complete the Landing formalities flying from India (south India) to Canada.

My question is:
Can I land in any city in Canada? if so, best deal for which cities?
or
Do I have to Land in Alberta only? if so, best deal for which cities?

Procan - Even after your passport has been stamped, you have to convince the officer at the port of entry that you will indeed settle down in Alberta, as a permanent resident. So, it is better to land in Alberta; bigger cities being Calgary or Edmonton.

My medicals reached ottawa on Aug 4,so far the ecas show in progress..any one in same boat ?It doesn't say file transferred.

My intention is going to Alberta, Canada only. my concern was availability of flights from India to Canada.
Any members of the forum have already gone through that, I just want to know their experience.

Hi Snelectron

Just from the previous timeline of candidates it usually takes 4+ months from the date of submission of application or 3+ months from the date of encashing the checks to get an AOR/Medicals from CIC.
(Source: Please read through the previous posts in this thread from a few months past to get an idea of this ) .

Your check would have been encashed by August 8th or so....Expect your medicals by 3rd week of October.

CIC typically does not communicate with the candidate before this to convey any updates.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but how do you find out when your medicals get to Ottawa?

You will get AOR/Med Request in about 4 month after you sent your application so you should expect these to come to you by around same time next month how ever If you remember your cashier check # which you sent you can call your bank and find out if its encashed or not and also can get the file # from the image of the cashier check/MO.
