Priya86 or anyone with a stamped passport......can you please help me with the below question?

From the time your passport is stamped with the visa under US visa holder category (H1B) to Alberta how much time are you given before entry into canada expires?
Typically it is 1 year from the date they receive your Medicals.

And at what point in the process do they stop requesting for your H1B status?
They never reconfirmed my H1B status (AINP or CIC). That may be probably because I was early in the process, or due to the fact that I am a direct employee of a highly recognized manufacturing (not software) company, or some other reason. However, I don't know of any instance where CIC has ever asked for H1B status to anybody. If you have the Nomination you are good, imo.

Thanks

Albertaorbust,

u mentioned u r driving to buffalo to get ur visa stamped, buffalo office mentions on their website passport has to be mailed they would not accept in person.

Please do check be4 u drive

Hi earth,

I think you are talking about RPRF (Right of Permanent Residence Fee), not PPR (Passport Request). RPRF can be paid at any time during processing.

In my case, I did not receive the request to pay RPRF along with my AOR/Medical, but my immigration lawyer wants to submit my RPRF before CIC requests (But I don't think this will make the process faster).

Yes! i meant RPRF :) have edited my post now. Thanks for info Jasper, i was wondering what if we send RPRF before CIC requests it and in the mean time our case gets transferred to some other visa office....hoping this will not be a problem.

People who has done medical, please advice as i am planning to do my medical -

Do I need to take my current medical report (report from my family doctor and lab that I have done)?

There are two place in Minnesota where I can do my medical, please let me know if you have suggestion, bad or good experience. Please post.

Hey guys.. I completed my medicals on July 23rd and am waiting for PPR. My H1 expires in Oct and I doubt I will be have the Canadian visa stamp issued to me by then. My employer doesn't know that I have applied for Canadian PR. They want to send me to Canada on a project after my H1 expires. Can my employer apply for a work visa for me (for Ontario) while I have a CIC petition pending through AINP? Will it mess up my CIC petition especially since it's a different province?

Will appreciate your help.

Guys,

I received the medical request last week.
I noticed that there is a spelling mistake on my wife's medical form, her middle name is incorrect, So I faxed a letter to Buffalo office indicating the same as they had mentioned in the instructions. Now I also have the appointment scheduled for medical on 18th aug.
Does any one know how and if Buffalo office will contact me to correct this spelling mistake , will they provide new form , what if they do not reply, should i still continue with the medical.

Also has anyone does medical in florida , can someone share their experience?

Appreciate all the replies..!

Hello everyone,

I am going for my medicals tomorrow. I have a question about if I can go to canada on visitor visa soon. I don't know timeline of processing, so, I have no idea when I am gonna get passport request. In the meantime, if I need to go to canada, can I get visitor visa.

If someone has any knowledge, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

by applying for PR you have showed immigrant itent so visitor visa will be a littile difficult for you as you will have to mention abt yr PR application on your visitor visa application otherwise it will be considered fraud. ............ just my 99 cents..

I am not sure about it. It depends on the Canadian immigration law.

I know for sure that visitor visa for US is not a dual intent visa. Visitor visa for US is a non-immigrant visa.

But, does Canada follow same immigration policy on it as US? It needs to be researched.

Hai!! Well there is an Indian doctor Dr. Gopal in Hernando County Brooksville.I got my packet on 28th July, I called the doctor's office and requested the appointment for the next day. I paid $812 including X-ray fees, for me and my spouse. Depends where you live in Florida. From my home it was hour and a half journey. He is good. Not many questions asked...he takes good care of filling in the blanks....Plus he is efficient in sending away papers, no delays. I did my medical on 29th July and on 2nd August they we out from his office to Ottawa.

Guys,
I am planning to do my medical soon, and I was wondering should I take my medical report (from my family doctor and lab that I have done previously) with me?

Please let me know.

Not required unless you have had some condition like heart problem. If you have no major medical history, then just walk in. If you do have history, then take some reports or statement from your physician.

Best of luck.
