I haven't received my AOR and Medical Request yet, but eCAS (https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en) started showing my application status "In Process" today (I entered the "B" number written on the back of cashed check as my Immigration File Number on eCAS). The eCAS also says "We started processing your application on July 7, 2010."

My application reached Buffalo on Mar 25 (my Cashier's Check was encashed on Apr 20). So many of those who submitted their application mid-late March should be able to see their application status on eCAS using the "B" number, and AOR/Medical should arrive in a few weeks.

Hello All,

Anybody did Medicals in Austin, Texas ? If yes, in which hospital, how much fee, etc. Normally how much is the fee for medicals ?

Thanks,
Srikanth.

Reposting the below question again, as it got buried among other postings earlier and saw no responses. Appreciate any information on the below. Thanks !

Hello Shvr,

Though my answers may not be absolutely correct, I hope they will give you some information.

1. Medicals - You can get your medicals done with a CIC recognised doctor nearest to your place of residence. Since you are in Canada, you can visit the CIC recognized doctor nearest to you. To check for the doctors in your area

Go to WWW.CIC.GC.CA Website and click Home > Medical Exams and Criminal Checks > Medical Exams > Designated Medical Practitioners
Select your region, country and state-- You can see a list of doctors in Alberta.

2. Once you are done with your medicals, You can write a letter to CIC requesting them to expedite your PR application with a justification (Have a valid reason, say your wife wants to pursue higher education in Canada (in case you are married) - Univ fees for PR/Citizens are less than International students, or another job offer where in the employer is looking interested in a PR rather than visa sponsorship..etc). It is purely the discretion of the visa officer either to expedite your case or not.

Anyways, since you received your AINP medicals, I think it wouldn't take more than 2-3 months to get your PR (going by the historical timelines of other members).

3) Applying for another PR within Canada - I dont think its a good idea, given your AINP application in-proecss. Under what category will you apply? Since you are on work permit, I think you need to have 1 year of experience in Canada to qualify for the canadian experienced class. Moreover, the whole PR application process within Canada takes no less than 6-12 months.

Hope this helps

Thanks Avalap. That helps.

Hi,
Could someone help me decide on a doctor from Bay Area for my medical examination. There are two doctors with nearly same cost, would appreciate if someone who has had any experience with any of them could give a feedback:

1. Clarence P. Allegakoen, MD, Mountain View, CA
2. Thomas Stern, Berkeley Family Practice Med. Grp, Berkley, CA

There is Dr. Timothy Fitzer, Berkley as well but i read a few negative reviews abt him so not considering him.

Thanks for help.

Yes, you can request the copy of your check.

I got my cashier's check from Bank of America. All I needed to do was to call the phone number written on the back of the cashier's check and give them the check number and my account information. Since I had an account at the bank, the fee was waived and I received the copy by mail in a week.

I know some bank even print out the copy of check at their offices or branches, so it really depends on the bank. I think it is best to call Wachovia or go to one of their branches and ask about it (but some customer service representatives do not know about the process. So even if one says they can't provide the copy, it is good to talk to others).

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and realized this is the link to add my timeline to the google docs.
Here it goes:

Sent application to AINP: May 1st 2009
Received email for additional docs: March 30th 2010
Received nomination: 21st June

Have recived my FBI clearance: 5/19/2010(had sent it in advance)
Waiting for Indian PCC(sent on 6/23/2010)

I was wondering what the timeline is for Indian PCC. And any pointers where to obtain photos for the CIC application.

Thanks
