Hello Nix/Satyac,
Read this experience on Murthy.com and it may give little more clarity/.
"we can not send the PR cards to some one other than you" - this is what immigration officer said.

As far as I know, you can use any address as long as it is not a PO Box. I have never heard this being illegal (not that I know much about the Canadian and CIC laws and rules). I know a few British people who have used the UPS and other mail forwarding services for their PR cards (from another forum). I used my friend's relatives address and I am not sure if that was illegal. Even if it was, there is nothing I can do now. If they have asked me detail about the address and if I was moving permanently, then I would have said the truth about the address being friend's and also that I was there for a week. I was lucky that I was not asked those questions and was only asked for an address to mail PR cards.

The CIC has given its PRs an option to live outside the country for 3 years and they cannot expect somebody to move and have a permanent address just for PR cards. It's just my view and please do what you think is right for you. Good luck.

Hello goingalberta,
I feel this may work.
The best way to handle this is to send them whatever you have and if they need anything additional then they will ask you.

As MagiqHand said above, I was able to get the same day appointment in a RBC branch that was very close to the place where you apply for health cards. I had to wait about 15 minutes for the appointment. It is located in Memorial Drive Branch South East Calgary. I opened an account and came out of the office and deposit my money and asked the teller to print a statement with my name and address showing and took it to the health card office.

We landed on Nov 15 and PR cards for my wife and kids arrived in our address in Calgary on Dec 14th and for me it arrived on Dec 21st.

Thanks Nix1 and Magic hand. I was in NW part of Calgary. Opened a bank account but since it was Saturday I couldn't get the Health cards. Perhaps next time. Meanwhile, my experience coming back to Chicago from Calgary wasn't good. I have to say, border security was really strict and had lots of questions for me. The wait in the airport for everyone going to US was atleast 3 hrs. Regardless, I felt as if I wasn't welcome here anymore :-[ I am glad it will be my final visit here before I decide to settle down in Canada..

Hi Dear Xp
What other records shoud we bring to canada?
Auto insurance record for driver license?
education record for job searching?
health history record for SIN?
credit history record for credit card?
financial history for bank account?

Are they all must or just optional?

You are right. I was told to bring insurance record from US for better rates. Driving history for driver license. I am not sure about health history for SIN, I believe it is not relevant atleast no one asked me about it for getting a SIN number. Credit history is something I too have questions about. Folks here told me that US credit history is not acceptable here but in very rare cases, it was taken into account. For most people, getting secured credit card is the best option. It takes 6-12 months to built up credit. I know for some people, employer guarantee backed by good US credit history helped them in securing good mortgage rates. I believe you can also transfer your policy from US to Canada if the same company exists in both the countries. Here are some links that might be useful for people landing anytime soon.

I did my medical test back in February 2009. If I dont get the PPR by next month, will I be required to do the medical test again?

My CIC time frame will hit 12 Month next week !!! They start to process my application Jan 2009.

Dear Arsenal,
Have you checked with them what kind of goverment agencies the CIC has contacted?
FBI?
What is the problem that they do not process your case?
not clear criminal record?
Bad credit history?
