Venks,

You need to update both AINP and CIC
Fax No for AINP : (780)427-6560 along with your file number.

For CIC, Fax No: 716-858-9591
Email: buffalo-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca
You should have received a change of address form along with your AOR. Use this form to fax or to send an email.
Send along with Name, Date of Birth and File Number.

You will generally not receive an acknowledgement from CIC.

Can somebody please give Venks the email address for AINP?

Thanks,

Dear Applicant,

We are pleased to inform you that the processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada has been completed.

Consequently, you are required to submit your passport(s), photographs and Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) within the next sixty (60) days from the date of this letter. As the validity of your visa(s) has been already been established and is limited to a fixed date, it CANNOT be extended under any circumstances. We therefore urge you to read and follow carefully the instructions below without delay:

Passport
RequirementsWe require an original VALID passport for yourself and every accompanying family member.

Passports for all accompanying family members must be submitted together.
Passports must be valid for at least the next 6 months, or at least until the date of your intended travel to Canada.
There must be at least one blank page in your passport. If there are children included in your passport, there must be blank pages for their visas as well.
The immigrant visa that is to be placed in your passport will show an expiry date. You may enter Canada anytime before the expiry date shown on the visa; this date cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date, you will be required to reapply and submit a new application and processing fee.
Please note: Immigrant visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.

Right of
Permanent
Residence FeeEvery principal applicant and his/her accompanying spouse/common law partner is required to pay a Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF) in the amount of $490.00 CAD (or $490.00 USD).

The RPRF must be submitted to this office in the form of a money order, certified cheque or bank draft payable to the “Consulate General of Canada” in USD OR to the “Receiver General of Canada” in CAD. NOTE: Fee paid at a financial institution in Canada or fee paid online is not acceptable.
The RPRF will be refunded if for any reason you do not immigrate to Canada.
More information is available at http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/fees-frais_los_angeles.aspx

PhotographsWe require the following. See Photograph Specifications for instructions.

Ø Two (2) recent photographs of yourself and each accompanying family member.
Ø Height and eye colour for you and each accompanying family member.

You have two options to choose from regarding the submission of your passports:

OPTION A: Submit your passports and RPRF in person

Bring
Passports in personPassports can be brought to our office:
550 South Hope Street, 9th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90071
Passports may be brought in on Tuesdays or Thursdays between the hours of 8:30 am and 10:30 am. Bring this letter when you come.
Every effort will be made to have your passports ready to be picked up between 2:30 and 3:00 pm the same day.
You or your representative may bring your passports in person. Your representative must have your written authorization and will be required to show photo identification.
For security reasons, the Consulate General of Canada does not allow the entry of recording or transmitting devices in the immigration waiting room or interview areas. This includes all types of cell phones.

For Persons residing in CanadaIf you are the principal applicant, you may appear alone.

You must bring the passports for yourself and each accompanying family member. All visas will be issued at the same time.
You can effect your landing upon your re-entry to Canada.
Your accompanying family member(s) can effect their landing by later appearing at a Canadian Port-of-Entry before their visas expire.
or
You can appear with all accompanying family members and effect all landings at the same time upon your re-entry to Canada.

Settlement FundsBe advised that when you enter Canada as a permanent resident, you will be asked to provide proof that you have sufficient funds available for settlement. If it is your intention to proceed directly to Canada, you should have supporting documentation with you – current bank statement, updated bank book, securities or negotiable instruments in bearer form, etc. Failure to provide this information could affect your admissibility to Canada and otherwise delay or prevent your landing. Please refer to the following website for current requirements: www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

First of congratulations ! Your long wait has finally come to an end.

It looks like they had you confused with a skilled worker - they have asked you to show proof of funds. Or is this the norm for everybody from now on?
Thanks for posting your letter.

I meant carry documentation showing sufficient funds while landing - the link says skilled workers or professionals.

Do you have your old passport or new passport number on file? If it has the new passport number, then the new passport should suffice. They are more concerned about the validity of the passport.

If your passport has expired, that means your visas in that passport have also expired. So, I am not sure they would be concerned about expired visas. If you concerned about showing them your current status in the country either you should have your new passport showing current visa date or you can submit a copy of your I-797

Hi,

Passport expiry does not necessarily mean visa expires too. My previous passport was valid till Aug 2004 with H1B issued Jan 2004 – Sept 2006. In Aug 2004 I got a new passport and that did not have any H1B stamp. I travelled in and out of the country based on the visa on my previous expired passport and there were no issues of any sort.

Thanks,
L.B

:) :) :)

Finally our wait is over. We received our passports with visa from buffalo. We have to land there before March 28,2011.
Well i just wanna thanks everyone, especially the seniors because they really help us in it.
Thank you everyone!!!

ok so the biggest question for us now is whether to go to Edmonton or Calgary????we will be going by air not by land, but will comeback to US to complete our things and then move there. I am going to read the landing experience thread and if someone have good advise on where should we land first.(with 6 month old baby)and what things we should do right away.
We are so happy and praying for all of them who are waiting for visas and there passport request.
