Hello! I have been following this blog for sometime now. This is my first time ever posting anything. My girlfriend and I recently finished our medical, a month ago and now we are waiting for the passport request. From the process trend, it looks like we should hear back within the next month or two. Since we are in the final stage, I am getting a little nervous about the whole process of moving to Canada, getting a job, settling down.. etc... I am sure some of you are on the same boat. I would appreciate it if you all could answer a couple of questions which will help me be better prepared.

I have heard cost of living in Canada is expensive compared to the US? Is this true?
Is pay/salary ranges lower in Canada compared to the US?
How difficult is it to get a Job?

We both are excited on the prospect of moving to Canada but with any new adventure there is a lot of uncertainty and I wanted to find out from you all what to be prepared for. Also, for the landing procedure, if we give our lawyer address, would that not be sufficient for them to mail out the Green Card or are we suppose to have an address in Alberta.

Thank you all.

For cost of Living check this out:

http://calgary.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20081105/CGY_grocery_basket_081104/20081105?hub=CalgaryHome

For Salary ranges use:

http://www.workopolis.com/work.aspx?action=Transfer&View=Content/Common/ResourceCentre/RCSalaryGuideView&lang=EN&theme=work

Use the calculator

For a job find nobody knows, some will take time for others in days, it depends on many factors.

And by this time of your process I think, with out an offense that you should have this answers already digested, like my job market, place to stay, schools, transportation, etc.

Good Luck!

Peace

Dear immigration.help

For the sake of medicals you can use US passport photos the 2x2 size.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum. I have a quick question if anyone can advice I will highly appericiate it. I have got my AOR and medicals. My question is that i have a Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (in whch you have pain and swelling in ur wrist) and this condition generally happens due to exxcesive use of keyboard and computer.rite now i take some medicines for that pain and do some exercises as per told by my doctor.

Do you think this condition in my medical history can cause any problem in my immigration process. Please advice.thanks.

Quick question. With the request for documents just before nomination.....do they request these through regular mail or they send out an email? If its by email could someone please provide me with an email address they use just so it doesn't go to junk mail. And has anyone experienced a situation where the email went straight to junk mail?

You already have a response to your post

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is not something which you can spread from one person to another. You should be fine. You will also not be creating a burden on Canadian health system by CTS.

I am curious to know. How old are you?

Play Hard outside !!!

Thanks
