Hi Tapak,

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I am planning to do my landing at Calgary in another 10 days. Can you please guide/answer the following questions

Did you use AVR to re enter USA.?

Did you need to carry some extra documents or information regarding AVR. Did you need to tell immigration officer that you are using AVR to re enter ?

I have an expired H1 visa from my old employer but have a valid I797 from the new one.
Also, did you give ALL your old I-94s (or just the recent one since old I-94s could have expired but the new H1 approvals will have their own I-94s).?

Thanks again for your help

You have to understand that your H1 Visa can be expired, not your status! So, make sure you have a valid I-797 and I-94 before leaving the country.

Does this apply to folks who are reentering US with a Canadian PR or can anyone on H1 leave and return on AVR?
AVR has always been a mystery to me ???

Hi Guys,

I had sent in my application to CIC and the same reached on 30th March 2010.

The money gram got cashed on 22nd.

So I now would have to wait for the next level.... :)

BR,
McLuvin

Hi McLuvin,

Where did you get the Money Gram from ? Also how can you check if it was enchased ?

Thanks,
L.B

Hi El.Bee,

I got the money gram from Walmart... the charges are negligible...

You can call them by using the 800 number that is in the website or the recipet...

The number is 800 542 3590

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Here is my AINP timeline:

Applied for AINP: March 23 2009
Request for documents from AINP: Nov 25 2009
Documents sent to AINP: Nov 25 2009
AINP Nomination: December, 10 2009
Application sent to CIC: Jan, 13 2010
(Application sent without PCC and FBI)

I had two questions:

(1) Have others who sent applications around Jan 13 2010 heard anything back? I saw one person, (trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/discuss/provincial-nominees/246), any others, please let me know. I'm worried since it has been over 3.5 months.

(2) Is having high cholestrol grounds for medical inadmissability? Are there members who are unfrotunate enough to have high cholestrol who have gone thru the medicals part?
Also, for those in this bucket -- My cholestrol numbers are HDL is 30 and LDL is 161, so not too high, but still out of normal. Please advise.

Thanks!

Well we haven't heard from anyone on the Jan 2010 cases yet :(
Your high cholesterol is not of concern for the PR. I think that should be the least of your immigration worries for now! But keep working on it to bring it down. There's no point in working towards a PR and ignoring to work away from angina!
Best.

Hi all,

I have a question here. There are cases where the application has been returned by CIC for lack of complete documenation or supporting documentations. If the application is returned at time of expiry of nomination and we resubmit the application after the expiry date on nomination will that make the application void ?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
L.B

This is a question to those who got PPR and eventually stamped passport:

Has anybody experienced that passport was requested and ecase showed that "Decision has been made" but did not get stamped passport or case was denied? Any view......

Can you share your NOC code?

So far i've never heard anyone with that kind of situation. When you already get a PPR noticed its almost 90% sure that you will get your visa unless they found something on your documents that is not authentic or faked or if you do not declare your change of status to the Embassy. Otherwise, you are fine and you will get your visa stamped on your passport. Why? did you experienced it?

Since I'm new to this forum, I'm looking for guidance from people who have been tracking this in detail...

It looks like AINP is no longer giving nominations to people in the Information Technology sector
cicnews.com/2010/03/alberta-immigrant-nominee-program-buyer-beware-03766.html

I already got mine (as have most people on this thread/forum); however, I looking for guidance on if/how this would this have any impact on:

(1) CIC processing AINP applications?
(2) Has anyone heard anything about CIC change in policies (I'm not implying there is any, but I'm asking to see if anyone has heard anything?)
(3) CIC cpplications filed in Jan in the Information Technology sector, my NOC is 2171

Thoughts/guidance?

Thanks!

Do not wish to sound alarmed, but we should get to know:
Though the unemployment numbers in Alberta are small by size, the fact that it is lagging other provinces in gainful employment is not good news. http://www.vancouversun.com/business/Alberta+unemployment+rate+climbs/2782712/story.html
One reason attributed to the level of unemployment is "Non-Albertans also continue to migrate to Alberta based on its reputation as an economic hot spot".
