Only rec'd email from asking for Police clearance from Singapore , not letter?

1. Can I take the e-mail I rec'd from e-mail from CPP-Ottawa asking for Police clearance from Singapore?

2. I have my friend at Singapore give the cheque and documents to the office directly, would this course any problem? when she went last time to the office they said we will need the request letter?

3. As per the e-mail we got it tell us that we will need to submit within 30 days of the e-mail? Do you think is possible.?

4. do they sent the COC directly to me or the Ottawa visa office? Please help.

Hello,

1. There should be an attached PDF document or something like that with the email. Print that request letter out.

2. You can also send the whole thing via UPS or Fedex. I sent the whole package to the CID via UPS.

3. It is definitely possible to get the police clearance from CID, back to you, and sent to CPC Ottawa within 30 days. I did it in like 10 days or something. Include a request letter from yourself, saying that you wish for the CID to process your police clearance faster because you are worried you don't have enough time. They did it for me.

4. CID will send police clearance to you, then you will need to write your UCI, name, etc. at the back of the police clearance; then send it by mail to your CPC.

Remember to do your ink and roll fingerprints.

Can you call CIC tomorrow morning and tell them you need a request letter to apply for police clearance from Singapore? The visa officer probably forgot that you need a request letter. Do it ASAP.

I just checked. If you are a citizen of Singapore your police clearance will be sent to you. But if you are not a citizen of Singapore the police clearance will be sent directly to the CPC.

Just something we were told when we did fingerprints.....If you receive the letter containing your police check from Singapore directly, do not open the envelope. Send it unopened to CIC. Seems they tend to look at opened police checks suspiciously (something about forgery or doctoring of the documents). At least that's what we were advised to do.

My friend opened mine, then mailed it to me, nothing happened. But what you said seems to make sense as well.

I called them and the agent advice there is no letter and the e-mail alone should be enough to get the Police clearance from Singapore. They will not issue an letter or any attachment with the e-mail.

I am going to try with the e-mail alone.
