30 days is only an estimate like all processing times.

What exactly is the meaning of estimate? In my understanding an estimate should imply a rough timeline, which can be exceeded by a few days, plus or minus. So if an estimate is not even a vague indication then how is it an estimate?

When it comes to processing times it is certainly more vague than a few days. It gives you a general idea for a good proportion of cases but is far from guaranteed. Bit is partially posted so people don’t contact IRCC over and over again to ask about processing times.

Yes but that is what makes it counterproductive. When they give an estimate and then do not act accordingly, the applicants get anxious and message and call them repeatedly. If they could put up a comprehensive timeline that they actually stuck to, it would make planning a trip much easier.

First application 15 aug 2020
Second application portal 12 sep 2021
They only asked additional documents for the first application on 29 oct 2020..
then nothing..

It is impossible to give an exact processing time and processing times are constantly changing. Many realize that processing times are just estimates and that there are a mixture of less complex cases that may be processed faster and other applications that take longer. Other factors like demand, resources distribution, etc. factor processing times. Many only contact IRCC when there is a significant delay.

But how do I figure out where I am stuck and when I cab hope to have the visa? The ircc helpline, the ircc account both have no updates. And they do no reply to any webform.
So what is the way to know?

But these days you need to order a second set of gcms notes to find out where your gcms notes are.
That’s just a joke but it takes a lifetime to get the gcms
