Online wire transfer or Demand draft?

Greetings,

I am moving to Canada on PR. I have opened online ScotiaBank account as well. Considering exchange rates and security, which is the better option to transfer funds - wire transfer to scotia account or carry a DD?

Also, is it mandatory to declare DD along with cash?

Seems clear in link below anything that takes someone over 10k CDN. You can bring as much as you want as long as you declare, so if ever in doubt declare regardless what anyone might say here

Personally I would do a bank transfer starting with a small amount to ensure I had set it up correctly, whichever is easier from your country given some countries not always as easy to execute so whichever method you yourself feel more comfortable with.
