I submitted online application for my mom Jan 23, 2017. Received confirmation email the same day.
No update until now, only says "OPEN".
Processing Days for our country is 12 days.
Hoping to hear good news in the next couple days.

Are you applying from Ghana? I too get similar updates. I checked and processing time in 123 days. That's interesting

I applied for my mum since May 2016,no updates yet,am thinking of withdrawing the application since several case specific enquiries no reply.Am kinda confused now.

We applied in Manila. We got PPR today (Feb 1, 2016)

Did you apply online too? May 2016 means that they have already communicated to you, but you didn't get it or your application is lost in the system. If they are not responding to your case equiries, withdraw your application HERE: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

Did you apply for TRV? My problem is, did you check if your email address was typed in correctly? And what was the reason of your mom's visit? And your status in Canada?

I was asked for a replacement of additional family information which I responded by adding it that same day which was November 18th and since then nothing else again.

My mum is in Nigeria and applied through online I was later told that Accra visa office deals with online application for Nigerians too.Was thinking online application is always the fastest.

What is the reason for her visit? I hope you should hear from them by middle of March. The processing time for Accra office for Nigerians is more than 3 months.

Middle of March that's will make it almost a year am hoping I hear from them soonest cause I really need her to be here.

I understand. What was the purpose of your mum's visit? Tourism or other?

I applied under visitors tourism and in the letter of invitation I said I want her to come visit her first grand child for 5months.

5 months is too much to ask. It is normally not recommended for tourism visa. The current processing time for Nigerian at Accra visa office is 126 days. If yours have exceeded, try sending case inquiry again. But I hope you should hear from them soon. Keep us posted!
