Hello everyone,
I am preparing to apply online for a study permit next week that is for an 8 months business administration certificate program in a public university. I have all my documents ready and I was pretty positive about my case until I learnt that applying from outside your home country can cause a refusal.
I am a Turkish citizen (no criminal records, I am able to go and leave my home country without any issue, I was there last December and I have my retired parents and sisters living there.) and I am living with my Colombian citizen common-law partner in Colombia. We declared our common law partnership here in Colombia and thanks to that I was eligible to get a Colombian work permit for 1 year from October 2020 to October 2021. I am legally eligible to extend the duration of the work permit or reapply again in the future thanks to my partner. Since I have the Colombian work permit here I have been working in my partner's family business as an administrator (I explained my responsibilities in the letter of explanation) and my boss is actually my partner's father. We are in the process of building and establishing a brand of natural agricultural products and I have a work certificate from him that declares I am working here and I am expected to be back after I complete my studies to keep working on our project. Actually the reason why I am going to study is to improve my administrative skills in a country with high education quality and learn the basics of operating a business.
I also have a really strong travel history. I have been to Canada before several times (I still have a Canadian TRV, I have also been to England, Germany, US, Mexico etc and I didn't have any legal trouble in those countries. )
Could you please give me your thought about me applying from overseas for the study permit? Is it really a reason to get refusal even I will be applying online?
Thank you very much!
