Hi all,

My wife's online application for a student visa was recently rejected since she did not include the letter of acceptance by the University. My question is where do we attach it??? We attached all of the documents requested and there is room for 2 optional documents but they specify which ones can be attached. In other words there is absolutely no place to add the letter of acceptance. Please note she is an American married to a Canadian (in case it is different in other situations)

She would like to reapply ASAP but does not want to be rejected again because we put the letter of acceptance in wrong place. I cannot get through to the CIC via phone. I have used CanadaVisa for another issue and received wonderful, informative replys. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Brian

there is usually a specific upload request for the letter of acceptance. If not, and if this alone has been the cause of your rejection, I would suggest making a list of all the documents that need to be attached combine them to a single PDF file and then uploading them to a relevant section. Dont worry too much if you think the document does not match the upload section.

Thank you for your reply adi15!

There is actually no place to upload the letter of acceptance. When we attempt to scan in the application with a combined pdf including the letter of acceptance we receive the following error message

Validation error: You have not completed the mandatory fields or you have not completed them correctly. Please make corrections where indicated.
Error Description:
You have submitted an invalid form. Please complete and validate an electronic version of the application form, save it to your computer, and upload it.

Note: You cannot submit an application form that has been scanned.

You do not need to sign your application form. You must provide a digital signature once you are ready to transmit your completed application to CIC.

Unfortunately there is no other place where we can upload this file. Perhaps we can upload it with one of the other documents but I am afraid they will rejext the application again because it is in an improper place

Please go through your account extensively, you will find a place to upload the letter of acceptance. The port is titled 'Letter of Acceptance'. It is on the area with Digital Passport, Proof of Financial Support, etc. In the event you do not find it, write a letter of explanation and attach the Letter of Acceptance to it.

Please ensure that you have other documents ready as prescribed. Goodluck.

I am having the exact same issue and I have already been refused cause I didn't attach the acceptance letter but there was no room for it!
Btw I noticed something that might be the cause even if it doesn't make sense: when I did the eligibility test there is a question about your spose and his/her status in Canada. My husband is a canadian skilled worker and if I add this information in the form, nothing about the letter of acceptance will appear in the application upload page. If I say that he's not, then I would be able to upload the acceptance letter.

I don't know if I explained it properly, but anyway it doesn't make sense at all!!!
