Online student visa application passport requested

Hello all. I applied online for a study permit and I received a message from CIC that they require my passport now. Does this mean that getting my visa is definite or is it still a maybe?

how can you provide him passport ? through courier or by hand?
 
Through VAC or CHC according to the submission link.

Yes it said one blank page and my passpot needs to be valid for my whole stay in Canada. Is that the pdf you receive if your visa is guaranteed?
 
Your visa is guaranteed but you will receive another PDF for that later.

Hi one of my friends said to apply for student visa you need to deposit $10000 in Canadian bank as maintenance funds applying outside canada. Is IT true. Please help me
 
If you are applying in SPP category then thats true and it is called GIC.
