Hi, I applied for my PRTD under H&C from Dubai through email on 30/07/2020, but I only received the acknowledgement email and nothing else ever since. I am just wondering if it's normal to take all this time (5 months)? And have anyone applied from UAE as well?

Yes, this sounds perfectly normal. PRTD applications under H&C typically take a number of months to process. This was true even pre-pandemic.

Pre-pandemic people where often waiting 4-8 months. It's really hard to say how long you will be waiting now.

Hello!! My mother and I also applied for PRTD renewal through the online covid submission. We only received the acknowledgement email that our application has been sent. We applied on August 05, 2020. Today it is February 5th, 2021. It has been approximately 6 months. How many more months do you think will take to receive some sort of response?

Not quite sure what you mean by online covid submission. There are no set timelines if this is an H&C case and you have not met your RO.

I'm sorry. I meant that I submitted the application through email since that's what VFS and CIC.gc said to do if you need to renew your prtd. Also can you explain to me what "H&C case" is? and what is an RO?

H&C is humanitarian and compassionate grounds. RO is residency obligations. If you are compliant with your RO, your PRTD should be approved much faster.
