I noticed that now IRCC is trialing an online portal for PR sponsorship applications, has anyone tried this before. Are the timeline any better than mailed applications?

No, no better - so far slower at initial stage. Only been in operation for a few months so too early to draw conclusions.

It is a pilot programme. Think: public beta.

If it's more convenient for you than physically mailing, that can be a good reason - but hoping it's faster at this stage is NOT a good reason.

I've noticed that mailing in is still the better option as of right now...
