Hi Guys,

I was about to pay my fees online (as I'm resubmitting my application). However, the option to pay online is no longer available :(

The instruction guide was updated today (you can check toward the end of the page) and it states that "On-line payments are not accepted by the CIO." http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp#pay

Has it been like that before as well?

My initial application was returned due to blocked credit card. What do you guys suggest now? Should I do money order, bank draft or certified cheque? - Anything which could be valid for few months.

WHat? I just paid RPRF for my spouse and myself last night online.
As far as I can see, you can still pay online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?lob=pric&cat=Permanent+Residence

It did say that the "CIO" does not accept online payments - if you pay your RPRF later then it's no longer with the CIO.

Initial application fee can't be paid with Credit card directly.. you need to fill the credit card details in the form and send it to them.. best option is to get a bank draft....

I think you could pay until a couple of days ago. Now they changed it so you cannot pay online anymore. I paid 2 days ago and wanted to send my application on Monday. Not sure how to get my money back now...

"In addition, we are not accepting online payments for permanent residence applications under the Canadian Experience Class at this time."

I don't get this. Were people abusing the online payment system somehow?

Submitting a credit card authorization is a poor substitute, it's like writing a cheque to someone and waiting for them to eventually cash it.

Perhaps they were having to process too many refunds?

I just got a money order instead, will be re-submitting my application next week. Thank you everyone for the help and guidance! This forum is just amazing.

Bingo, with small NOC B caps, they don't want to be processing endless streams of refunds of applicants that don't qualify.
