Online Fees for Outland Spouse Sponsorship. Guide Error?

Hi Guys,

I am just helping a friend with the outland spousal sponsorship. Here is a line to their guide with regards to the fees:

Basically per the guide, the amount should be as follows:
Sponsorship Application: $75
Principal Applicant: $475
Right of Permanent Resident Fee: $490
Total: $1040

Now when we go online to make the payment there is a fee for "Spouse/Common Law/Conjugal Partner" of $550
so should it be this instead:
Sponsorship App: $75
Spouse: $550
Right of Permanent Resident Fee: $490
Total: $1115

I believe the $1040 is the correct amount as per the guide but I am wondering if maybe the guide is wrong since there is an option for "Spouse" in the payment fees.

Recent sponsorship applicants please chime in and let me know what you have paid.

Is your friend immigrating with their spouse?
Or is one of them already in Canada?

Unless the person being sponsored is bringing a spouse from their country with them (which could be an issue if their Canadian spouse is sponsoring them) then that is the wrong fee.
Don't pay the $550 spouse fee.

I went into the site myself and see the payments haven't changed.

Like you mentioned in the first part of your post, only pay those fees.
Sponsorship Application: $75
Principal Applicant: $475
Right of Permanent Resident Fee: $490
Total: $1040

Check the wording on the site and make sure they match up and it'll all be fine!
