I got my passport attested from BD High Commission for a fees of $40.

Then I had someone paid tk.500 for PCC fees at Sonali Bank.

With my Attested PP and Bank Chalan I applied and my PCC was home delivered.

The verifying police officer asked for Tk. 500 for cha-pani, which my father gave.

Total cost $40 + $16 = $56.

Time: 7 business days.

Great :)

Can you please explain the process of attestation of passport from OTTAWA?
I tried calling several times, phone lines are busy.

I filled up the form and made the bank draft of $40. Do i need to send my passport along with the package ?

Thanks

No need to send passport, just send a photocopy and a passport size photo along with the application. Oh! also a return expresspost envelop.

good luck.

Guys, I am in Canada. My dad had to pay thousands of taka in Bangladesh for my certificate even though it is only 500 taka. The Bangladeshi police authority said my passport needs to be attested by High Commission in Ottawa since my passport was issued from there. I called the embassy hundred times at least but they didn't pick up. Typical unprofessional Bangladeshi govt employees even in Canada.

I am confused here, who will actually issue the PC? Is it the high commisssion or the bangladesh police authority. Can you please tell me how can I contact the high commission to ask if they can give me the PC. Or they just attest the passport only?

Are these the documents I have to send?

- Photocopy of my passport
- One passport size photo (does size matter? or is it ok if it's older than 6 months?)
- Bank draft of $40 or $60. How long does the $40 taka?
-What kind of return envelope? Small or big?
- Which application form? Is it this one? http://www.bdhcottawa.ca/images/pdf/attestation_application_form.pdf or there is a separate form for applying for PCC through the embassy?

Please if someone can address my concerns I would be very grateful.

Thanks
