Applied - 20th DEC
PPs requested - 13th Jan
PPs sent to NY - 16th Jan ( USPS EXPRESS)

Just now I found that VAC at NY was closed. I am confused that whether they can process my passport. Can I get the passport with visa stamp?

Looks like VAC and Canadian Consulate general are 2 different things.
The PPs need to be sent to consulate.
So I guess we should be fine.

@PizaVisa : I had sent PPs on Wednesday the 15th and it reached LA consulate Thursday the 16th (Via USPS with tracking confirmed). I am hoping to get it back in a week or so judging from their PP processing time which seemed to be faster than that of NY.

My passports too reached the NY consulate on 20th.
I made a mistake of not storing the USPS tracking IDs of the RETURN ENVELOPES.
Any clues, how can that be tracked? Does the consulate reply after sending back the PPs?

I had included -
1. Passports
2. Request letter from Consulate(we get this from the online account) for each applicant.
3. USPS express Prepaid return envelopes for each applicant.

I made a mistake of not copying the USPS tracking IDs from the return envelopes. So not sure how I'd track them.
I'm not sure if Consulate sends any update after they send back the PPs.

Actually today I got my passport!

Timeline for online application:

Applied online: Oct 10
Passport request: Nov 5 (sent that same day to LA)
Passport received: Nov 9

My passport reached LA office on 17th. Still waiting. And the status in CIC account is "open". I heard once they sent your passport back the status would become "closed".

Did anybody (who got PP request last week) get their PPs back? Any USPS updates?
