Hi all,
I submitted an application for a Canadian tourist visa in early Dec, with aim to travel in early Jan. (this was based on their "online processing time" of 10 days). I'm confused about a couple of things;
Bit of info, I have a Malaysian passport, and am a permanent resident in Australia. My application was submitted online
1. Which office will process my visa? Is it the Singapore office because I'm Malaysian, is it the Sydney office because I'm PR in Aus, or is it the Canadian office because I submitted online?
2. Do all visitor visas require you to mail your passport to the Canadian office? There was no information about this online. If that's the case, I don't see how I can do it in time.
3. Is there any way to expedite the process? I fear it may already be too late and we may have to cancel our trip, the whole online information is extremely deceptive.
4. Does anyone know what would happen if the visa is approved, but I don't submit my passport for stamping, and then travel to Canada? Would they have a record of the approval and still potentially let me in, or would I be refused entry?
5. Is there a consulate/embassy in Australia I can directly take my passport to, to be stamped in person on the day? (after approval)
