Any updates online applicants? I'm still waiting for the elusive medical request. Getting nervous because of the long delay. I sent them an online inquiry about the status of my application. Received an autoreply saying they'll attend to it within 28 days... :'(

Hi DocRZ! I also applied online using MyCIC service from the CIC website. I applied May 15, 2013 and got an email reply dated June 4 stating that my application for student permit is currently queued for review. I waited about two weeks for the CDN Embassy in Manila's response to my online inquiry. I haven't receive any updates aside from that. I am also anxious, because of the long wait.

Btw, I'm glad I found this forum. I've been looking for other applicants who applied online. I am not sure about the process here in the Philippines but I followed every rule and instructions I read on MyCIC.

Date of Application: May 15, 2013

Dapat talaga nag paper based nalang ako

I feel the same thing :'(

I'm having the same regrets too. I should have applied through paper. I have to have that visa by mid-July to give me enough time to prepare. I'm worried that by the time my visa arrives, airfares have already skyrocketed.

@msladybug: Is this email that you received last June 4 different from the email confirming that your application was successfully lodged? Until now, myCIC account contains only one message from the embassy stating that my application was successfully lodged... nothing follows...

Hi DocRZ! It's different. I asked them a few days after I received the confirmation that my application has been lodged. I wanted to make sure if the Cdn embassy in Manila received my application since it's your home country or the nearest embassy who will process your papers and they did. But I wish I wasn't deceived by the notion that online applications are processed faster than paper.

Let's keep the faith alive DocRZ! We should stay positive. :D

@msladybug: Ok. So it's a reply to an inquiry. It took them approx 2 weeks to reply. My professor in University of Calgary is also worried about how slow the visa is being processed. Are you aware of the work stoppage/strike that Canadian diplomats are holding. They say this the reason why applications are processed longer. Hopefully their demands can be settled as soon as possible. By the way, to which school are you going?

@DocRZ Yes I am aware of the strike. I sent another inquiry to CEM concerning the status of my application. My aunt from BC also told me that it may be the reason that our application are processed longer than expected. I am attending Grand International Professional Studies in Whitby, Ontario. When is the start date of your schooling?

@msladybug Classes start on September 2. Actually I should be in Canada by next week since I'll be attending some trainings before the term starts. But due to the delay in my visa, it's been pushed to September. Maybe a blessing in disguise since there's this massive flooding in Calgary right now.

Hi i'm new here but appreciate if anyone can advise me on program to take if Im already a bachelor's degree holder. Shud it be diploma 2 yr course or atleast post grad programs? Pls somebody advise esp those with approved Student visa already

It may be a blessing in disguise doc! I do hope we'll get notifications from CEM anytime soon! Let's keep each other posted as we have similar situations. :)

Keep the faith alive! ;)

Not yet DocRZ. Have you tried calling Customer Service or inquiring in person?
