online application approved but no status of dependants

do they give separate information about dependents in case of online SP application or is it only for the main applicant as others are covered in that. After filling my online form, the very next day i received a mail asking me for my previous education details and scanned passport copies for myself and dependents under my application number.
I have also read somewhere that they do not send separate mails to dependents (not very sure) in case of online approvals. Let's say if my application was refused will they again send separate intimation to my dependents. Now when my case has been approved and all my dependents docs have been attached with my case, shall i wait for their approval as well.
Even the VFS guys were confused about this when i took mine and my dependents passports along with my approval letter. Initially they took all 3 passports but later on they called one of their seniors in some other location and took my passport only. I have written a mail to the embassy as well twice but no reply.
Don't know what to do shall i wait or visit embassy. Any one gone through this please help

I received a passport request for each family member at the same time. But as I said before I knew that my application was done was a ccoincidence. I applied online, maybe that's why I received all requests together.

I'm going inshallah to Mcgill for PhD in architecture program starting this fall. The acceptance letter didn't specify a date were the program should end, so when I applied for the CAQ, I requested 4 years but the gave me 3 only. This is what I requested for my family in the TRV application, but they gave them more time, till the expiry date of their passports.

Hi Doda, I have a question again on funds. For your wife, did u present funds under her name? Or did u have everything under yours? Thanks in advance!
